Biographies of Our Firm

Paul Lewkowicz brings more than 25 years of engineering and engineering management experience to Strategic Patents, and since 1998 he has been a practicing attorney focusing on patent law and related intellectual property matters. 

Paul has substantial experience in assessing and developing patent strategies for new technologies.  He has written and prosecuted patents in many hardware and software areas, including mechanical devices; networking, routing and switching; distributed processing/messaging; network management systems; encryption; and semiconductor fabrication, packaging and testing technologies.  Paul has also supported complex patent litigation and authored numerous patentability, clearance, invalidity and non-infringement opinions. 

Paul is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office, and admitted to the practice of law in Massachusetts and California.  Paul studied Electrical Engineering at Stanford University, concentrating on mixed analog/digital systems, and earned a Master of Science and Bachelor of Science in only four years.  After working in aerospace and telecommunications with industry leaders Hughes Aircraft Company (now part of The Boeing Company) and GTE Government Systems (now part of General Dynamics), Paul attended Santa Clara University School of Law.  He graduated cum laude and received the prestigious Schatzel Law & Science Scholarship, the Antitrust Prize and two Emory Scholarships.  Along the way, Paul also merited a spot on the Dean’s List every semester as well as four American Jurisprudence awards.
