Biographies of Our Firm

R. Dean Adams has over 25 years of experience in engineering, technical leadership, management, patent development, and patent prosecution, and is the named inventor on over 30 issued patents. Prior to working with Strategic Patents he was Director of IP Strategy for a thousand-person silicon-valley software firm, driving their patent development efforts. His extensive industry experience includes 20 years at IBM. Dean also founded a technology startup and led this startup through a successful acquisition. He has aided in patent litigation support, performed patent due diligence on numerous acquisition targets, provided patent portfolio analysis for venture capitalists, and served as a technical expert in various patent matters. In addition to the wealth of academic and commercial experience that Dean brings to Strategic Patents in a wide range of technical areas, he is a world leading authority in integrated circuit design-for-test and built-in self-test design and development.

Dean holds doctoral, master of science, and master of engineering management degrees from Dartmouth's Thayer School of Engineering where he was a Distinguished Fellow. He authored the book High Performance Memory Testing and coauthored another book and over 20 technical papers. Dean is an active member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.

Dean is a patent agent and is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
